On a tree-lined street in one of Seattle’s most desirable neighborhoods, Salisbury House is half way between downtown and the University of Washington; near the arboretum and Lakes Union and Washington. Walk, or take the bus downtown, the local business district is one block over with a nice variety of shops and restaurants, and we are just a short walk from Volunteer Park, home of the Seattle Asian Art Museum and Victorian Conservatory. Parking is available on-street in front of the inn for free, but you won’t need a car, Seattle has a terrific transit system and our location is central.
Built in 1906, the Prairie style inn has been renovated carefully to maintain the historic flavor while providing modern comforts and is meticulously maintained. Each uncluttered guest room is a corner room with a well-appointed bath, lush cotton towels and custom label, all natural soaps. All rooms have comfortable queen, or king-size beds, crisp linens, and good reading lights. A spacious, 640 square-foot Suite is located on the lower level. It has a private entrance, sitting room with fireplace and flat screen TV, fridge and coffee maker, and a large bath with double shower and Jacuzzi tub. All rooms share a well stocked library with a fireplace and a plant-filled sunporch. A full vegetarian breakfast is served in the sunny dining room overlooking the organic garden. Enjoy great Seattle coffee in front of the fireplace with the NY Times, local papers and the resident cat.
We have offered gracious accommodations at a reasonable rate to discerning travelers since 1985. Salisbury House has been featured in National Geographic Traveler, Frommers, Fodors and Karen Brown Guides and other national and regional publications. Sunset Magazine named us “Best of the City” and we are a “Best Place to Kiss in the Pacific Northwest”. |
